Alexander Heil (*1970, Frankfurt am Main) is a sculptor who has been working independently on wood and stone sculptures since the mid-1990s. His works arise from a close dialogue between material, form, and space.

Career

• Born 1970 in Frankfurt am Main
• Apprenticeship as a landscape gardener
• Studied landscape architecture in Berlin
• Extensive work and study stays in South America, Spain, Italy, China, and the USA
• Creative projects in his own garden design business
• Conceived and published a book on a new type of garden design
• Independent sculptural work in wood and stone since the mid-1990s

Artistic Work

His education in landscape architecture and garden design continues to shape Heil's sculptural thinking. His works are characterized by clear volumes, conscious reduction, and a strong physical presence.

Materiality, weight, and surface play a central role. The sculptures appear calm and focused, yet unfold their effect in the interplay of light, space, and perspective.
