Giorgio Tentolini

Giorgio Tentolini (*1978 in Casalmaggiore, Italy) lives and works near Cremona. His works are created from finely layered materials such as tulle, fabric, paper, or metal mesh, which condense into precise relief images. Through light, transparency, and superposition, a special spatial depth develops between drawing, painting, and sculpture.

At the heart of his work is the exploration of memory, identity, and time. Many works are based on photographic templates from art history, architecture, or film, which Tentolini translates into a reduced, contemporary visual language. The meditative lightness of the materials used creates a quiet, atmospheric presence in the room.

Since the early 2000s, his works have been exhibited nationally and internationally, including in Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Geneva, as well as in the USA and Taiwan. Presentations have taken place at the Royal Palace Milan, MAR – Museo d’Arte della città di Ravenna, MUSA Museum Salò, and Teatro Regio Parma, among others.

As part of the 60th Venice Biennale, Giorgio Tentolini was featured in the Cameroon Pavilion at Palazzo Donà dalle Rose.

In Germany, works by Giorgio Tentolini are presented by Galerie Minrath in Cologne, among others.
